About Me
Academic/ Writer / PhD Student
I am a current academic and PhD researcher at Wolverhampton University where I am researching the diverse representations of women in the works of Dolly Parton. I have written extensively on Parton, and will be included in the upcoming academic book DIVA: FEMINISM AND FIERCENESS FROM POP TO HIP-HOP from Bloomsbury Press.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, I have always had a deep love and admiration for Dolly Parton, and aim to approach her and her works from a new and ground-breaking perspective. My other research interests include the music of Michael Jackson, Southern American feminism, and the history of Witchcraft. I have extensive experience teaching university both in the United States and China, and currently work in library sciences at Wolverhampton University. Dreams Don't Just Come True Because You Want Them, That's A Wish or A Fantasy. You've Got to Work for them.”- Dolly Parton |
